Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka is giving an interview to three independent Belarusian journalists, with RFE/RL Belarus Service Minsk Bureau deputy chief Valer Kalinouski among them.
The last time Lukashenka agreed to be interviewed by an RFE/RL correspondent was in 1995.
RFE/RL’s Belarus Service plans to ask Lukashenka about the ongoing presidential election campaign, the situation in Ukraine, and Minsk’s relations with Moscow, Washington and Brussels, among other issues.
The two other media outlets taking part in the interview are Euroradio and the tut.by Internet portal.
The interview started at 10:00 am cet and is expected to last for approximately 90 minutes.
